Cascade Clamps - Founded in Portland, Oregon in 1943, the Cascade Manufacturing Company started as a small machine shop hiring just 4 individuals. Total sales for that initial year totaled $60,000. The very first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless-steel valves, pipe fittings and other parts. Throughout five years of operation, the company had expanded to forty employees and their yearly sales volume had risen to 330 thousand dollars. Now, Cascade is one of the leading global manufacturers in the material handling industry.
Production and design of the company's initial hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive pursuit of better business possibilities. Over the last 60 years, the material handling industry has grown into a very advanced area and Cascade has proudly played a part on this growth. Cascade presently continues to develop as the best provider of forklift attachments and numerous related products. The business feels certain in their potential in order to continue to lead the way in the business by understanding customer's needs in the future and remaining competitive in the international market.
All through the 1950's, Cascade began to fabricate, design, and sell its hydraulic attachments. A new facility was made in 1956, so as to house all of the plant operations and offices in Portland, Oregon, which is still the company's current head office. After 15 years of business, total workers reached a hundred and eighty staff and sales had reached almost 2.3 million dollars.
In the year 1959 in Springfield, Ohio the next production plant was built. 1960 marked Cascade's initial transfer into the global world of the material handling industry while the company established interest in the Netherlands, England, and Australia.
In the year 1964, the business altered its name to the Cascade Corporation. Afterward in the year 1965, the business went public with a preliminary offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. Ever since then the business has expanded its manufacturing facilities within the continental US to the areas Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already current plants in Springfield, Ohio and Portland, Oregon.
